ANDREW'S STORY
Following a year and a half battle with acute lymphoblastic leukemia, our friend Andrew Gmelch passed away on December 5, 2007, at the young age of 15. Andrew was an avid surfer, skateboarder, snowboarder, as well as loving brother and devoted son.
Always known as the one who could put a smile on someones face no matter what the situation, Andrew was an individual who lived with unforgettable character. Even at the height of his illness, his optimism and good heartedness remained at the core of his being. The effort in which Andrew expressed in activities ranging from extreme sports to his school studies, provides us with an extraordinary example of how living with passion means to live without regrets and fears. His quick wit and sense of humor also taught those of us who knew him how to live with a little humility, and to take life as it comes.

Thank you for your generous support of The Big Andrew Foundation.
Since our start in 2008, our goal has been to create an environment that supports and understands the people in our community. As the saying goes, it takes a village to raise a child, and, in the case of The Big Andrew Foundation, that saying has been overwhelmingly true. Each person, company and organization that has been with us for the last ten years can take credit for the success of our mission. Your contributions and efforts inspire and touch the lives of patients within the Big Andrew Hospital Network, which includes the York Oncology Center and the Providence Hood River Oncology Center. Your donations make a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals battling cancer.
By showing your support and encouragement for our community, you have not only given your time to those affected by cancer, you have also given the gift of hope. Many of the patients in the Big Andrew Hospital Network are physically and mentally exhausted. As a result of our efforts, The Big Andrew Foundation is able to provide a voice that continues to strengthen and empower our community.
For this, we sincerely thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
